Duncan’s career of helping to strengthen vulnerable communities has taken him around the world. Now, after decades abroad, he is bringing his global experiences home while still helping those in need overseas.
Duncan’s career started with a volunteer placement through Cuso International following his university graduation. The Edmonton-native volunteered in Peru for 2.5 years, assisting in agricultural development.
“I was so naive when I left Canada. I was in shock for months that life wasn’t as good for everyone,” said Duncan. “At first I was just learning. The different perspective from an outside set of ears and eyes, and just showing care and respect, are basic and important motivations for change.”
Now, Duncan works with Feed the Children Canada in Toronto as Director of Program Development and Quality where he can bring his global knowledge of development planning to help those vulnerable in Canada and partnered countries.
